Shared Use Parking

Shared Use Parking
The Council implemented in September 2018 shared-use parking (ie residents with permits sharing a parking bay with others who pay on a daily basis) within five existing Ealing Controlled Parking Zones.

This was the first phase of a wider programme to introduce similar facilities in all existing Ealing parking zones. As part of phase 2, the Council has drawn up plans for a further five zones, one of which is in Hanger Hill CPZ – Zone O. As with phase 1, the average percentage of bays proposed for conversion is around 10-11%.

The Council say that their intention is to ensure that the shared-use bays are only proposed in those locations where parking is reasonably light during the day and therefore able to accommodate additional parking. Please note that the shared use parking places would be placed alongside flank walls and not directly outside houses.

Information on areas affected is in light green notices on lampposts at the affected locations. Full details of the traffic order, the locations with maps and how to submit comments are available in the attachments below.

In summary most of the roads listed in the order will be excluded with the exception of some areas along the flanks of houses in the southern parts of Ashbourne Road and The Ridings, part of most of the Closes listed and some small stretches of other roads such as Beaufort Road outside the Church of the Ascension. The deadline for representations was Friday 29 March 2019.

The results of the consultation were announced in late May 2019 and the Council indicated that the scheme would proceed as proposed including in Zone O. However, it would be subject to review in the light of experience and adjustments possibly made including increasing the charges to users.
